Stakeholder Consultation

Stakeholder consultations form a crucial element of any programme evaluation, service review or re-commissioning process. We have extensive experience of undertaking these, and use a range of consultation methods to build up a nuanced picture of stakeholder views.

Recent commissions:

  • East Sussex: As part of a county-wide review of adult mental health day services, TriNova conducted a comprehensive consultation process, gathering views from current users of services, people who don’t use services, staff, carers and others. Information gathering was undertaken through focus groups, interviews, postal questionnaires; and consultation events. In total, around 500 individuals were enabled to have an input into the review. Service users were supported to play a key role in this consultation – shaping the consultation approach, refining interview schedules and speaking at the consultation event.
  • Cambridge: TriNova undertook a survey of the views and experiences of people with mental health needs in receipt of Incapacity Benefit (IB), with regard to employment, work and training options available to them. A purposive sampling strategy was used to gather qualitative and quantitative data using a structured questionnaire. The survey findings were used to make recommendations for service development and further research. These lead directly to a three year pilot job retention programme based at GP surgeries.
